If I were starting from scratch, I would invest more in proper training and not just in equipment. In the beginning I made the mistake of buying a lot of hives without knowing the management well. Also, I would pay more attention to monitoring each colony individually - that's where eHive helps a lot because it shows you exactly what's going on. Tip: start with a few beehives, get to know their behaviour well and don't be afraid to ask for help from more experienced people.
