How important is orientation, shade, distance from plants or roads?

It is very important to choose the right location. I make sure the hives “face” east so that the sun hits them early in the morning. I avoid places with a lot of noise or near roads, because they get stressed. I also put them near plants and water, but not right next to each other, to avoid moisture. Shade yes, but not permanent - you also need sun during the day for a constant temperature.
